I added "historic content" to the pages, and yes, they probably should not go, at least their contents shouldn't even though they might be consolidated probably slightly; but it's a non-rewarding talk to do that for dead pages :-) I tried to improve the linkage a bit ... but forgot where I added a link to the old pages :-)--[[User:planetmaker|planetmaker]] ([[User talk:planetmaker|talk]]) 01:35, 1 October 2013 (CEST)

I hope I write to the right place.

I think I've discovered a bug in the wiki's email sending system. When I want to change my email address, I get this message: "Error sending mail: Unknown error in PHP's mail() function."
 +
On my Preferences page, when I want to confirm my address, the wiki says:
 +
"OpenTTD could not send your confirmation mail. Please check your e-mail address for invalid characters. Mailer returned: Unknown error in PHP's mail() function."
 +
Indeed, no mail arrives. However, the address isn't invalid, even the wiki itself says "Email address appears valid" when I type it. I have already tried other addresses, I get the same.

32bpp Extra Zoom Levels – sure to hide?

I am unsure if it was a good idea to hide the 32bpp Extra Zoom Levels page from the readers. (By redirecting, it has practically become hidden.) It could be kept for historical reasons. I don't know this patch, I was just translating the page NewGRF, and ran into a dead link. And thought that although it's historical, maybe it shouldn't be cleared out of the wiki. Anyway, if it indeed should, then maybe 32bpp Extra Zoom Levels Files also should be. And then removing link (and mentioning) from NewGRF#8 bit vs 32 bit graphics. I don't really care which option we choose, I just want to see the wiki consistent. And I don't want to change this without asking. So what should we do? zqrc (talk) 22:59, 7 September 2013 (CEST)

I guess I should have answered earlier. I added "historic content" to the pages, and yes, they probably should not go, at least their contents shouldn't even though they might be consolidated probably slightly; but it's a non-rewarding talk to do that for dead pages :-) I tried to improve the linkage a bit ... but forgot where I added a link to the old pages :-)--planetmaker (talk) 01:35, 1 October 2013 (CEST)

Wiki: Email sending problem

I hope I write to the right place. I think I've discovered a bug in the wiki's email sending system. When I want to change my email address, I get this message: "Error sending mail: Unknown error in PHP's mail() function." On my Preferences page, when I want to confirm my address, the wiki says: "OpenTTD could not send your confirmation mail. Please check your e-mail address for invalid characters. Mailer returned: Unknown error in PHP's mail() function." Indeed, no mail arrives. However, the address isn't invalid, even the wiki itself says "Email address appears valid" when I type it.
