Wie in vielen anderen Spielen gibt es auch in OpenTTD Cheats (= Die Möglichkeit zu schummeln). Cheats sind nicht, und werden niemals in Mehrspieler-Ppartien so möglich sein, wie sie hier beschrieben sind. Siehe unten für mehr Informationen über Schummelmöglichkeiten im Mehrspieler-Modus.
Warning
Mit Cheats betrügt man seine Mitspieler. Man beachte, dass diese Schande für alle Ewigkeit in Erinnerung bleiben wird. (Das bedeutet, dass die Benutzung von Cheats in deinem Speicherstand vermerkt wird).
Erreichbar sind diese über die Tastenkombination Strg+Alt+C (für Macs Strg+⌘ Cmd+C).

- Ctrl + Alt + C -To access the cheat menu press Ctrl + Alt + C. This only works in single player games. Geld um £10,000,000 erhöhen
Erhöht (oder senkt) das verfügbare Geld um £10,000,000. Beliebig oft wiederholbar; der Betrag Null kann dadurch nicht unterschritten werden.
Mögliche Einstellungen: Jeder numerische Wert, der ein Vielfaches von £10,000,000 darstellt, (z.B. $20,000,000), größer als Null.
Als Unternehmen # spielen
Erlaubt, jedes beliebige Unternehmen zu spielen (sei es eine KI oder ein geladenes Multiplayer Spiel), deren Fahrzeuge zu steuern, etc.
Speichern Sie das Spiel vor der Eingabe dieses Cheats, da Sie durch einen Zuordnungsfehler Ihren Spielstand verlieren können.
Mögliche Einstellungen: Unternehmensnummer zwischen 1 und 15 (Maximale Anzahl an Unternehmen bis jetzt).
Magic bulldozer
Der Magic Bulldozer erlaubt Ihnen, Industrien und andere normalerweise unbewegliche Objekte wie Leuchttürme zu zerstören. Der Magic bulldozer hat jedoch Nebenwirkungen. Da nicht nur Sie als Spieler höhere Bulldozer-Rechte erlangen, erhalten auch Städte die Fähigkeit Industrien zu entfernen.

Tunnels dürfen sich kreuzen
Erlaubt den Bau von Tunnels die sich überschneiden.

Flugzeuge stürzen auf kleinen Flughäfen nicht häufiger ab
Große Flugzeuge tendieren nicht mehr dazu an kleinen Flughäfen öfters abzustürzen. Sie stürzen genauso oft wie an großen Flughäfen ab.
Mögliche Einstellungen: An oder Aus
Aktiviere Veränderung der Produktionswerte
Erlaubt Ihnen die Produktion der Industrien zu verändern. Mögliche Einstellungen sind 0,8,16,32,64,128,256,512,1024 oder 2040 Tonnen pro Monat

Wechsle Klima
Bei aktivierter Einstellung können Sie während des Spiels die Klimazone ändern. Dies kann Sinnvoll sein, um Fahrzeuge anderer Klimazonen zu erhalten oder einfach nur zum Spaß. Beachten Sie, dass dies unter Umständen unerwünschte Auswirkungen auf Ihre Fahrzeuge, Industrien oder Frachtarten hat.

Change date
The time is at your hand! You can go back in time or travel to the future with this cheat. Click on the date to enter the desired year directly, instead of incrementing or decrementing it with the arrows.
Unfortunately, it doesn't affect inflation or expired vehicles. To regain access to expired trains, open the console and type resetengines. Any vehicles or stations (future airports) that become available while you are cheating, will still be available when you go back to the original date. Also, traveling before the year in which you began your game prevents the financial information from working properly.
Cheats that are no longer cheats
During the course of development of the game, new cheats have been added while others are removed. This section lists settings that were previously cheats, but can now be found elsewhere.
Allow Electric Trains to run on normal track
Since OpenTTD 0.7.0 this cheat has been moved to the Advanced Settings menu, where it can be found under the Vehicles » Trains subcategory. This setting disables electric rails altogether.
Build while in pause mode
Since OpenTTD 1.1.0 this cheat has been moved to the Advanced Settings menu, where it can be found under the Construction category.
Cheating in network games
The cheats listed on above are not available in multiplayer games. There are two ways to enable cheats in Multiplayer:
- Modify the source code and recompile the game running on the server, something which is heavily frowned upon.
- Enable cheats in a single-player save game and then load the game at the "Start Server" menu.
If you must do this you should at least inform the clients that they are playing on a server with cheating enabled. There are, however, other ways to "cheat" in a multiplayer game. See multiplayer cheating for more information on this and how to avoid it.
Cheat Effects
If you use or used a cheat in a specific game session, your score will not be included in the High Scores list, in that session, still cheating can be good for debugging/sandboxing purposes. (It's easy to gain money in this game, even with harder NewGRF's but sometimes you just want to test something out.)
