Don't clear these pages. It is pointless. You loose time, but I will have to delete them, anyway. Or the script would do this... Later

Oops, I just thought that the script wouldn't allow them to post such things in the first place. Bruce98 21:13, 20 April 2006 (CEST)
I thought similiar... --MeusH 23:02, 20 April 2006 (CEST)

Heading 1

Hi Bruce,

Point noted - will sign my comments in the future. One question though - is there anything beyond an instinctive hatred that makes you say that Heading 1's are evil? (I'm happy to believe your word on it, just curious if there's an actual semantic reason for it..) Kander 19:32, 3 April 2007 (CEST)

Not really, they just don't look nice. The Wikipedia Manual of Style doesn't mention top level headings at all, suggesting that they shouldn't be used. (apart from the automatic one at the title of the page) Bruce98 20:00, 3 April 2007 (CEST)
There is a semantic reason for not using them: the headline at the top of the page is supposed to cover everything in the article, and as such, everything below should be one level lower than the main headline. Jupix 13:55, 4 April 2007 (CEST)

size of indexed PNG files

Thanks for converting one of my images to an indexed PNG, thereby reducing its size by a factor of about 10! I have just tried the same with all my other images using Adobe ImageReady. However, the file you compressed is 10.5 KiB, while ImageReady is only able to compress that file to 14.7 KiB. May I ask which great program you use to create such small PNG files? --Tekky 13:38, 30 July 2007 (CEST)

Just the GIMP. All I know is that Photoshop used to make ridiculously large PNGs, don't know about ImageReady. Bruce98 16:40, 1 August 2007 (CEST)
Ah thanks. Yes, my original images were made by Photoshop. By using ImageReady and indexed PNG, however, I managed to reduce the size of the pictures significantly, from over 100 KiB to 14.7 KiB. GIMP seems even better, though, because it compresses the PNG down to 10.7 KiB. --Tekky 14:40, 2 August 2007 (CEST)

Spelling type

Thx for the correction - my browser supported only us-English until 5 minutes ago :) Now it also has British English :) Greetings: Makarius 19:33, 27 September 2007 (CEST)

That's quite all right, that's what pedants like me are for. Bruce98 19:56, 27 September 2007 (CEST)

Truck images

Hi!

I used Fireworks 8 to optimize the images. I created the palette with only necessary colors for those images (exact options), change to PGN 8 (8 bits depth, because there are few colors) and indexed the transparency, then I export to pgn.

You can see the options I used here http://img444.imageshack.us/img444/1920/fireworksgr1.png , it's nice for few colors images

See ya

Ah, that's not as good. Thanks anyway. Strangely enough, your optimised images can be further reduced with pngcrush. Bruce98 15:33, 16 November 2007 (CET)
