Navbox

you seem to have some admin rights here, so if it is possible i would like to add the below code to openttd CSS ,i use it for my template Template:Navbox (trying to maintain some standard)

/* Default skin for navigation boxes */
table.navbox {            /* Navbox container style */
  border: 1px solid #aaa;
  width: 100%;
  margin: auto;
  clear: both;
  font-size: 88%;
  text-align: center;
  padding: 1px;
}
table.navbox + table.navbox {  /* Single pixel border between adjacent navboxes */
  margin-top: -1px;            /* (doesn't work for IE6, but that's okay)       */
}
.navbox-title,
.navbox-abovebelow,
table.navbox th {
  text-align: center;      /* Title and above/below styles */
  padding-left: 1em;
  padding-right: 1em;
}
.navbox-group {            /* Group style */
  white-space: nowrap;
  text-align: right;
  font-weight: bold;
  padding-left: 1em;
  padding-right: 1em;
}
.navbox, .navbox-subgroup {
  background: #fdfdfd;     /* Background color */
}
.navbox-list {
  border-color: #fdfdfd;   /* Must match background color */
}
.navbox-title,
table.navbox th {
  background: #ccccff;     /* Level 1 color */
}
.navbox-abovebelow,
.navbox-group,
.navbox-subgroup .navbox-title {
  background: #ddddff;     /* Level 2 color */
}
.navbox-subgroup .navbox-group, .navbox-subgroup .navbox-abovebelow {
  background: #e6e6ff;     /* Level 3 color */
}
.navbox-even {
  background: #f7f7f7;     /* Even row striping */
}
.navbox-odd {
  background: transparent; /* Odd row striping */
}

.collapseButton {          /* 'show'/'hide' buttons created dynamically */
    float: right; /* by the CollapsibleTables javascript in */
    font-weight: normal;   /* [[MediaWiki:Common.js]]are styled here    */
    text-align: right; /* so they can be customised. */
    width: auto;
}
.navbox .collapseButton { /* In navboxes, the show/hide button balances */
    width: 6em;            /* the vde links from [[Template:Tnavbar]],   */
} /* so they need to be the same width. */

so i can avoid shortcuts like this in every template

|bodystyle = background:transparent;  border: 1px solid #aaa; width: 100%;  margin: auto; clear: both; font-size: 88%; text-align: center;  padding: 1px;
|imageleftstyle =
|titlestyle = background: #ccccff; text-align: center;  padding-left: 1em; padding-right: 1em;
|basestyle = background: #ddddff;
|abovestyle = background: #ddddff; text-align: center;  padding-left: 1em; padding-right: 1em;
|belowstyle = background: #ddddff; text-align: center;  padding-left: 1em; padding-right: 1em;
|groupstyle = background: #ddddff; white-space: nowrap; text-align: right; font-weight: bold; padding-left: 1em; padding-right: 1em;
|liststyle = border-color: #fdfdfd; padding:0.25em 0; line-height:1.4em;
|evenstyle = background: #f7f7f7;
|oddstyle = background: transparent;

also i cant find away to create collapsible tables (like the menu hide/show) or add this the navbox, any help here will be greatly appreciated.

Hope I did it the right way. Rubidium 18:25, 20 January 2010 (UTC)

i dont think it worked, here is the Navbox, without me adding the styles manually:

Then I've got no clue how to do it. Rubidium 20:51, 20 January 2010 (UTC)

cleaning chinese bogus pages

i seen you have deleted all those pages with wired Chinese markings i marked, i was hoping that this way we will get rid of them but they are there, shown in the categories. Tutorial and FAQs (and probably in the rest of the categories i found them in the first time too)

Looks like some corruption of the database or some unupdated cache. Can't find the corruption in the database and can't find a cache, so again no clue how to fix it. Rubidium 20:51, 20 January 2010 (UTC)

Blocking IP addresses

There is very little point in blocking IP addresses, most people have dynamic IPs, so all they have to do is reconnect to their ISP. Bruce98 14:25, 3 September 2007 (CEST)

That may be the case in where-ever you're living, but where I am, dynamic IP addresses are dynamic only in lingo, as in reality my "dynamic" IP address has changed only once or twice during the 7 years plus I've been a DSL customer. In any case, IP blocking is not pointless by any means. Jupix 16:33, 3 September 2007 (CEST)
True, but usually you see multiple of those edits from one IP address (several hours apart), so if one blocks it quickly they will only do it once instead of up to five times. Rubidium 14:42, 3 September 2007 (CEST)
Well, blocking them certainly seems to deter them. We ought to disable anonymous users from editing. Bruce98 00:33, 4 September 2007 (CEST)

Anonymous users cannot edit

Hello, Why not deactivate the edit setting for all anonymous users ? in order to fight against spam.

It is very easy. You have only to set this parameter in the LocalSettings.php file into the Wiki :

// Implicit group for all visitors
$wgGroupPermissions['*'    ]['edit']            = false;
$wgGroupPermissions['*'    ]['read']            = true;
// Implicit group for all logged-in accounts
$wgGroupPermissions['user' ]['move']            = true;
$wgGroupPermissions['user' ]['read']            = true;
$wgGroupPermissions['user' ]['edit']            = true;

I'd love to, but... I can't change that as I have absolutely no access to the machine the wiki is running on. On the other hand editing by anonymous people is not bad in general, just editing by (spam)bots is. So I've proposed adding captchas to anonymous edits, but the maintainer of the Wiki is kinda busy.Rubidium 11:46, 6 October 2007 (CEST)

Any chance you could take care of this? The shape isn't necessarily sufficient for copyright protection, but it certainly qualifies as a trademark. We'd need an explicit licence from Transport For London to distribute this, and they're notoriously picky about it. Thanks. 85.92.190.81 19:47, 12 November 2007 (CET)

Can you please read the first passage? Thx :)

I'm neither familiar with those parts of wiki. As a developer I've got the rights to edit protected pages, but I'm not a wiki maintainer. Rubidium 21:38, 18 July 2010 (UTC)
Thanx for your reply, but can you tell me somebody in this wiki who can help me?--84.58.129.36 14:05, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

Wiki: Email address cannot be changed

I hope I write to the right place. I'm trying to change my email address on my preferences page, but although "E-mail address appears valid", I get the following error: "Error sending mail: Unknown error in PHP's mail() function." zqrc (talk) 12:23, 8 September 2013 (CEST)
