[edit] Configure Patches Window: Interface Section

The Interface section allows you to set change various options related to the game's interface. The screenshot below shows the default settings for OpenTTD 0.6.0.

[edit] Show vehicle speed in status bar

(vehicle_speed = [true|false]) Whether or not the vehicle speed is shown in the vehicle window status bar, where you can stop or start a train.

[edit] Always show long date in status bar

(status_long_date = [true|false]) Shows the full date all the time rather than just in pause mode.

[edit] Show finances window at the end of the year

(show_finances = [true|false]) Whether or not the finances window is shown at the end of the year.

[edit] Pan window when mouse is at the edge

(autoscroll = [true|false]) When the mouse is at the edge of the window the view will scroll.

[edit] Reverse scroll direction

(reverse_scroll = [true|false]) When right clicking, the view will scroll in the opposite direction.

[edit] Smooth Viewport Scrolling

(smooth_scroll = [true|false]) With this option enabled, the viewport scrolls smoothly to center the view when clicking on a news item or the 'Location' button in various windows, instead of 'jumping' to the location.

[edit] Duration of error messages

(errmsg_duration = <num_val>) Amount of seconds error messages are shown for.

(toolbar_pos = <num_val>) Location of the toolbar containing all construction tools

[edit] Show a measurement tooltip when using various build-tools

(measure_tooltip = [true|false]) Show a tooltip which indicates length, area and/or height when using various build-tools.

[edit] Windows snap radius

(window_snap_radius = <num_val>) Radius in pixels in which a window being dragged will automatically snap to the edge of another window or the edge of the screen.

[edit] Invisible trees

(invisible_trees = [true|false]) Whether or not trees are made entirely invisible when transparent buildings is selected.

[edit] Show town population in the town name label

(population_in_label = [true|false]) Display the population of a town inside the same label as the name of a town.

[edit] Link landscape toolbar to rail/road/water/airport toolbars

(link_terraform_toolbar = [true|false]) When clicking on one of Rail Construction, Road Construction, Dock Construction or Airport Construction buttons on the Menu Bar the Landscaping toolbar will be opened along with the relevant construction toolbar.

[edit] Show company liveries

(liveries = <num_val>) Set whether or not to show vehicle-type specific livery colours, which can be set through the Company > Colour Scheme dialog.

[edit] Prefer team chat with <ENTER>

(prefer_teamchat = [true|false]) With this option enabled, chat messages will only be sent to team members instead of all players, when pressing the Enter key.

[edit] Function of scrollwheel

(scrollwheel_scrolling = <num_val>) Set whether to use the mouse's scroll wheel for zooming, scrolling the map or disabling it.

[edit] Map scrollwheel speed

(scrollwheel_multiplier = <num_val>) Sets the sensitivity of the scrollwheel.

[edit] Automatically pause when starting a new game

(pause_on_newgame = [true|false]) Enabling this option will automatically set the game in pause mode when starting a new game.

[edit] Use the advanced vehicle list

(advanced_vehicle_list = <num_val>) The advanced vehicle list allows to place vehicles in groups and perform certain actions on groups, such as replace vehicles and sending to depot.

[edit] Use loading indicators

(loading_indicators = <num_val>) This function will display loading indicators above vehicles, which displays the amount of cargo in a vehicle when loading/unloading in percents.

[edit] Show timetable in ticks rather than days

(timetable_in_ticks = [true|false]) Increases the accuracy of the timetable feature, where one day equals about 74 game ticks.

[edit] Default rail type (after new game/game load)

(default_rail_type = <num_val>) Set what rail type to use as default.

[edit] Show building tools when no suitable vehicle tools are available

(always_build_infrastructure = [true|false]) Makes it possible to use a certain building tool even when no vehicles are available for that type of infrastructure.
