[edit] Scenarios

Snowy Highlands v0.5
The map has rough snowy mountains and deep valleys. So it should be a bit more challenging to build the infrastructure ;-) There are about 200 towns on the map, which is not that much compared to the map size. All towns are relativly small and towns above the snowline needs monthly food-service to grow. Towns and industries are not too close together. So at least in the early years some pre-planning is necessary to start an successful transport empire.

Climb up the Mountains
This is one of the maps that are quite old. It was made in the late 90s with TTD. So it could be played with any version of OpenTTD and TTDPatch and even with TTD. The map is divided in two main parts. The south western area is somewhat flat where on the other side the north eastern part has very high mountains.

Oberbayern
This map of medium size covers the area of Southern Bavaria and the west part of Austria. The north part of the map is very flat, containing the big lakes such as Bodensee, Starnberger See, Ammersee and Chiemsee, and of course, the town of Munich. It would be more hilly but i already set the highest elevation down to 3000 meters, so the highest peaks in the Austrian Alps are cut of (which isn't so bad, somewhere you have to plant the forests ;). In the south part of the map we have the Central Alps. While the valley of the Inn is wide enough to build a proper railway line, there are also many narrow valleys with little mountain villages. Getting passengers and food up there might be a little bit difficult but also very challenging if you don't terraform like hell and want to keep the beautiful landscape.

UltimaV Britannia
The world of Britannia of Ultima V. 24 towns with all the industries are distributed in realistic geographical regions. Special effects include Lord British's Castle, flood plains along the Lost River, canals of Trinsic, assorted swamps, the tree-top city of Yew, the deserted Drylands and the precarious existence of New Magincia!

Note: There are no trains for the first 10 years to encourage road and sea transport. If you prefer trains, change the year to 1945 in the scenario editor (or cheat window).

Arctic Industrial 2007
Like New Industries V2, this needs the ECS vectors. Enjoy!

Important Note: To play this map you need a special build of OpenTTD. More information can be found at this tt-forums thread. In addition you need several NewGRF files for the ECS vectors industries, which can be found at GRFCrawler.

Dale of Scandy
A very nice map with an interesting shape. It might be a bit of a challenge to connect the isle in the center of the map without massive terraforming. This map was also released with OpenTTD from version 0.4.5 to 0.4.8.

Download this scenario together with all the other maps from the 0.4.8 release.

Svalbard
After a passing fascination of with the island of Svalbard, I decided it would make an awesome OpenTTD map. Having only a handful of settlements, I had to take some artistic liberty and appropriate town names from nautical maps, regions, and historical data, but it's worth it when you create a transport empire spanning the map.
