Improved loading is actually worse than the standard way if your station receives more raw material than your train's loading speed. For example, assume that your station receives 150 coal per second and your train can only load 100 coal per second. This would cause a buildup of materials at your station by 50 coal per second.
Your station will perform better in these scenarios without the improved loading, since two trains combined will load up to 200 coal per second, managing the flow of raw materials to your station.
