Talk:Replace vehicles
From OpenTTD
We should include some information about the "Wagon removal" toggle button that appears on the trains' replacement window.
I have no idea what it's for, or I'd do it myself.

Update! Following experimentation, I reckon the button toggles whether or not replacing a 1-car engine (eg Brush 47) with a 2-car engine (eg Metro-Cammell) will simply extend the consist by one unit, or remove a wagon to compensate. I'm adding this conjecture to the page, please don't hesitate to shoot me down in flames if I've gone and written something daft and stupid and obviously wrong. Thanks for updating the wiki page :) --MeusH 09:38, 30 March 2006 (CEST)
[edit] Where is the button?
Am I stupid? I see no such feature in 0.5.2? Only a Manage list dropdown. Zojj 22:18, 26 May 2007 (CEST)
I think he means the [Wagon removal: On] button in Replace train dialog

[edit] Merge in autoreplace
Autoreplace is pretty much the same node; I suggest merging the two into "Replace vehicles" (as that's the name in the UI) and making Autoreplace a redirect.--LionsPhil 21:25, 9 April 2008 (CEST)
[edit] Exchange for new of the same model
I can't exchange my old vehicles for new ones of the same type (e.g. Chimaeras after 20 years - I don't want to change them to Lev3 and back to Lev4 (which would probably work now), but just exchange the old ones for new ones, so they don't keep braking down - any way to do this?) -- Gorbalad 23:12, 29 June 2008 (CEST)
