Description

The only steam locomotive in the sub-arctic and sub-tropical climates. 2-8-0 represents the wheel arrangement of two leading wheels on one axle, eight powered and coupled driving wheels on four axles, and no trailing wheels.

Real-life Equivalent

Various 2-8-0 trains exist. Which one the Transport Tycoon version is based on is at this moment not certain, however, it bears resemblance to various 2-8-0 locomotives popular in North America as well as 2-8-0 locomotive models built en masse by the UK in World War II and the J and K classes of locomotives used by the Australian state of Victoria.
