Le '''Industrie''' sono entità che producono [[it/Manuale/Carico|carichi]] e/o servizi specifici. Ci sono tre tipi di industria in OpenTTD; Primaria, Secondaria e Terziaria. Le industrie primarie, come le miniere, forniscono risorse senza richiedere nulla. Queste risorse vengono quindi trasportate da una [[it/Manuale/Compagnia di trasporti|società di trasporto]] a un'industria secondaria. A volte, le industrie secondarie forniranno una risorsa che verrà trasportata nelle [[it/Manuale/Città|città]] (beni o cibo) o in un'industria terziaria.

La vostra azienda non fa altro che "trasportare" le merci per conto dei produttori. Tutti i profitti che se ne ricavano derivano esclusivamente dalle spese di trasporto che vengono addebitate non dalla vendita del carico.

Le finestre dell'industria mostrano due numeri sulla produzione di ciascun tipo di carico creato dall'industria, questi sono i valori totali dell'ultimo mese. Il primo è la quantità prodotta. Varia a causa di fattori interni dell'industria. Durante una [[it/Manuale/Economia#recessione|recessione economica]] verrà prodotta solo la metà della produzione abituale.

Il secondo valore è la percentuale della quantità prodotta che è stata consegnata alle stazioni vicine per la distribuzione. Le industrie possono decidere di trattenere parte della produzione e di non consegnarla a nessuna stazione.

La crescita della produzione delle industrie primarie dipende dalla percentuale di merci prelevate da esse. Più se ne trasportano, più velocemente cresce la produzione media a lungo termine.

==Finanziamento di nuove industrie==
È possibile, per un'azienda di trasporti sufficientemente ricca, finanziare la costruzione di una nuova industria, che verrà costruita quando e dove il giocatore indicherà. Tuttavia, non si otterrà alcun ritorno immediato sul questo investimento (come la quota di profitto) ad eccezione del carico aggiuntivo da trasportare. Non si possiederà nemmeno la struttura, il che significa che normalmente, come per le latre industrie, non sarà possibile distruggerla, quindi assicurarsi di posizionarla nella posizione corretta!

A partire dalla versione 0.6.1 si può eseguire la prospezione di nuove industrie. Il finanziamento di nuove industrie e la prospezione hanno due differenze principali. In primo luogo, la prospezione viene utilizzata solo per le industrie primarie (cioè le materie prime) e, in secondo luogo, non è possibile scegliere il luogo in cui costuire l'industria per è stata eseguita la prospezione⁠: essa sorgerà in un luogo a caso sulla mappa, il sui suolo o sottosuolo è predisposto alla formitura della risorsa naturale per la materia prima ricercata e che gli incaricati dalla tua Compagnia saranno riusciti a individuare. Per questo motivo la prospezione potrebbe anche risolversi con un nulla di fatto ed il capitale investito andrebbe perso.

Puoi abilitare questa funzione nel gioco dalla finestra delle impostazioni, cliccare sul pulsante opzioni [[File:en/Manual/Options button.png]] della barra principale e dal menu scegli ''impostazioni''.

Nella finestra delle impostazioni seguendo il percorso ''Ambiente/Industrie/Costruzione delle industrie primarie'', oppure semplicemente digitando ''prospezione'' nel box di testo '''Filtro''', si potrà impostare l'opzione desiderata tra le tre proposte: "Non permessa"(predefinito), "Come altre industrie" e " 'Previa prospezione'' .
