Configure Patches Window: Interface Section
The Interface section allows you to set change various options related to the game's interface. The screenshot below shows the default settings for OpenTTD 0.6.0.
Show vehicle speed in status bar

Whether or not the vehicle speed is shown in the vehicle window status bar, where you can stop or start a train.
