Convert rail

To select which type of railway to convert to, click and hold the railway build button in the main menu.

After selecting an option, one of the following toolbars will appear:

Electrified Railway construction toolbar.

Monorail construction toolbar.

Maglev construction toolbar.

The /File/en/Manual/Convert rail.png convert rail button will activate a drag-and-drop tool that allows you to convert one type of rail to another (rail -> monorail -> maglev -> rail). This tool can be used on rail, depots, Bridges, tunnels, Stations and Waypoints.

Diagonal tracks

In OpenTTD there can be only one type of track on each tile (except the normal railway and electrified railway) so it is possible that you have to rebuild your railways first if you would like to mix the type of your close diagonal railway lines.
