여러분이 새로운 게임을 시작하신다면 아래의 사진처럼 메인 인터페이스가 보이실 겁니다. 여러분은 게임을 플레이하시면서 이 화면을 가장 많이 보시게 될겁니다. 메인 인터페이스는 3가지로 나뉩니다 : 가장 윗 부분에 있는 것은 메뉴 바이며 , 화면의 가운데는 3D 게임 플레이 화면이며 가장 아래에 있는 것은 상태 바입니다..

메뉴 바

메뉴 바는 아래 크림처럼 나누어집니다. 왼쪽부터 오른쪽으로 순서대로 나열하자면 "게임 컨트롤", "지도 정보", "회사 & 산업시설 정보", "차량 정보", "줌(Zoom)", "건설" 그리고 "기타" 이다.

게임 내에서 오른쪽 클릭으로 그 버튼이 무슨일을 하는지 알 수 있다.
대부분의 버튼들은 두 가지 작동 모드가 있다. 일반적인 클릭 기본저긴 것을 수행하고, 오랫동안 클릭하면 보조 메뉴가 뜬다.

게임 컨트롤

일시정지: 게임을 일시정지 시키거나 풉니다..
배속: 게임의 속도를 높입니다(사용자 컴푸터의 성능에 따라서).
설정 버튼: 설정창을 엽니다.: 게임 설정, 난이도 (en) 설정, 부가 설정 (en), 그래픽 설정.
저장 / 불러오기 버튼: 저장 / 불러오기 창을 엽니다.: 게임 저장, 게임 불러오기, 게임종료 (타이틀 화면으로), 종료 (게임을 종료).

지도 정보

미니맵: 세계 지도를 보여줍니다. 맵 상의 표지판 (en)의 목록또한 표시해 줍니다..
도시 (en) 지도: 도시의 목록과 인구를 표시합니다.
보조급 (en): 지급 가능한 보조금과 지급된 보조금을 표시합니다.
역 목록 (en): 플래이어에 의해 지어진 역를 표시합니다.

회사 & 산업시설 정보

Finances screen button: View the finances screen of any company.
Transport company (en) information button: View the company information for any company, and have the possibility to share your competitor's success by buying shares in that company
Graphs button: View various graphs about companies, their performance and the economy.
Company league table button: View the company league table showing the rankings of the various players.
Industry button: View a list of industries and their production. You can also prospect or fund new industries.

줌(Zoom)

게임 플레이 화면을 조정하고 싶으면 아래 두 버튼을 이용하십시오. 마우스 휠로도 화면 조정이 가능합니다.

줌 인: 화면을 확대합니다. 이 버튼이 비활성화 되어 있으면 화면이 최대로 확대된 것입니다.
줌 아웃: 화면을 축소합니다. 이 버튼이 비활성화 되어있으면 화면이 최대로 축소된 것입니다.

건설

Railroad build button: Open the build toolbar for railways and stations.
Road build button: Open the build toolbar for roads and stations/loading bays.

By clicking and holding the Railroad build button, a dropdown appears where you can select the railtype that you want to build. Similarly, the Road build button allows you to chose between normal road and trams (you need to have a tram NewGRF loaded first).

Dock build button: Open the build window for docks and canals.
Airport build button: Open the build window for airports.

Landscaping button: Open the landscaping toolbar.

The Landscaping button has a dropdown to access the tree and sign placement windows directly, instead of via the landscaping toolbar.

기타

Jukebox button: Change sound and music settings.
News button: Change news and Message settings (en). You can also see a history of news messages.
Other button: Things that do not fit into other sections: Land area information (en), Toggle console, AI Debug (en), Screenshot, Giant screenshot, and About OpenTTD.

특별한 기능

Switch Toolbar button: Allows to switch the toolbar which is splitted under very low resolutions (less than 460px). The button is only visible when the resolution is very low so that less than half the size of each toolbar button can be displayed.

3D isometric gameplay world

The OpenTTD world takes the form of a landscape, presented on isometric projection (strictly speaking rather dimetric projection) for that 3D look. You will spend most of your time playing here. The world is divided up into tiles, of which there are many types. Some are sloped, some are water, some are occupied by buildings, etc. This is where you build your transport empire!

The status bar

The status bar can be found at the bottom of page, as can be seen in picture 1., and above in picture 3. It is divided into three sections.

On the left you can see the date. It progresses at about 1 day every 2.5 seconds.
The middle part, which takes up most of the space, shows various information:
- The name of your company, initially "Unnamed". After you Transport company (en) it will show that name.
- News messages (en) pop up out of the status bar. Click on the status bar to display the last message.
- If you have changed the Message settings (en) to "Summary" mode, messages will scroll by here instead of popping up.
- If you have changed the message settings to "Off" mode, messages will be notified by a red dot.
- It also shows if the game is paused by saying: "* * PAUSED * *"
The right part shows how much money you have. You can change the currency in the Game options window (en) by pressing the "Options" button and then "Game options".

You may also hear "status bar" used to refer to the vehicle status bar.
